New accreditation: analysis of the chromatic characteristics of wines
We are pleased to announce the accreditation of the new analytical method OIV 1:2016 (MA-AS2-11 R 2006), also known as CIELab, for the analysis of the chromatic characteristics of wines.
This method represents a significant advancement for our laboratory, allowing us to offer comprehensive analytical coverage and ensure precision and quality in our results.
What is the CIELab Method?
The CIELab method is an internationally recognized color measurement system that describes all colors perceivable by the human eye.
It is based on three coordinates:
- L* (Luminosity)
- a* (Color composition on the red-green axis)
- b* (Color composition on the yellow-blue axis)
These coordinates enable an accurate and standardized representation of color, overcoming the limitations of traditional methods.
Applications in Franciacorta Rosé
The implementation of the CIELab method in our laboratory offers significant advantages for the chromatic analysis of one of Italy's most prestigious appellations, DOCG Franciacorta:
- Precise Color Analysis: detailed measurement of pink hues, essential for identifying the quality and character of the wine.
- Enhanced Quality Control: continuous monitoring of chromatic consistency across different productions.
The Advantages of the CIELab Method
